Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 1, 2026
Camguide is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by Camguide.
1. Summary (The "No Data Transfer" Promise)
We believe in privacy by design. We do not operate a backend server to store your personal photos, videos, or audio recordings.
- All photos and videos you take are stored locally on your device.
- We do not transfer your content to any cloud server controlled by us.
- We do not require you to create an account or login to use the App.
2. Permissions We Request
To function as a camera utility, the App requires specific permissions. These are used strictly for functionality, not for surveillance.
- Camera: Required to display the live viewfinder and capture photos/videos. This data is processed in real-time on your device and is never transmitted to us.
- Microphone (Audio): Required only if you choose to record video with sound. You can deny this permission if you only take photos; the App will still function.
- Storage (Read/Write): Required to save your captured photos to your device’s Gallery and to open existing photos for editing. We only access files created by the App or explicitly selected by you.
3. Third-Party Data Collection (Ads & Analytics)
While we do not collect data, we use trusted third-party services to improve app stability and support development. These services may collect anonymous usage data and device identifiers.
A. Crash Analytics (Firebase Crashlytics)
We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. If the App crashes, an anonymous report is sent to Google containing:
- Device type (e.g., Samsung S23)
- Operating System version (e.g., Android 14)
- The stack trace of the error (where the code failed)
No personal photos or microphone data are sent in these reports.
B. Advertising (Google AdMob)
To support the maintenance of the App, we may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google may use your device’s Advertising ID (GAID) to show:
- Personalized Ads: Ads based on your interests (if you have consented to ad tracking).
- Non-Personalized Ads: Contextual ads based on the app content.
You can reset your Advertising ID or opt-out of personalized ads in your Android device settings under Settings > Google > Ads.

4. GDPR (Europe) and CCPA (California) Rights
Since we do not store your data on our servers, we technically cannot "delete" your account because you don't have one. However, you have full control:
- Right to Access/Delete: All your photos/videos are stored on your phone. You can view or delete them using your Gallery app.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You can revoke Camera, Microphone, or Storage permissions at any time in your device Settings > Apps > [CamGuide] > Permissions.
- Right to Opt-Out: You can uninstall the App at any time. This effectively "deletes" all App data associated with your usage (excluding the photos you saved to your gallery).
5. Data Retention
- Photos/Videos: Retained on your device until you manually delete them.
- Crash Logs: Retained by Google Firebase for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
